Having Problems With Gallery

I know some people have been having problems with the gallery where it takes a while for photos taken to show up but I have a different problem. After pulling my Droid off the dock all the photos in my SD card disappear from the gallery and I can't see them, only my Picasa webalbums. When I go to set a wallpaper and it puts me in the gallery they show up just fine, though. Has this happened to anyone else?

Thats a pretty crazy glitch going on there. I'm assuming you're not running any task managers/killers, right?
Ummm...you have any apps that have to do with the gallery/dock?

No task managers or anything of the sort. The only apps I can think of are the N1 clock apk since it can launch the dock and the gallery from it, or Flikie wallpaper HD which uses the same grid effect as the gallery. I don't know if either of these could be it but it's all I can think of.

I haven't had this problem with my Droid, but one of my friends has been having this exact problem. He's going into a store for help today, but idk if they will be able to help.

Probably to factory reset.
I'm assuming you're rooted also (if not correct me lol)
Could always reinstall the Gallery if needed.

Have you tried launching the gallery from the dock?

I'm not rooted, actually, I've never taken the time to do it. From the dock, no, I'll go try it out and see what happens and report back.

Edit: I went to go do it and I opened the gallery on my way and everything shows up again. I guess I just have to wait an hour for them to show back up? It doesn't make any sense but they're there now.

Ahh well I know you're a senior member so just assumed lol

Well good lol
So if you launch it from the Homescreen/App Drawer, it loads up fne?

I know I probably should be, not sure why I haven't. :p

Yeah, launching it from the drawer or homescreen works fine. I did uninstall Flikie wallpapers before it started working again so that might have been what was mucking it up, although I don't see how.

Yea I doubt that was it. You could always reinstall it and see if the problem comes back :p
Though, I doubt you want that lol

Yeah, well, not everyone is unhappy with their phone being stock ;)

I've got Launcherpro and that's good enough for me. :D

Reinstalled Flikie and no problem. I guess tonight I'll go back to the stock Moto dock interface and see what happens in the morning.

If it's working fine now I wouldn't worry bout it. You should be perfectly fine.

I'm thinking the dock was just wanting to get it's hand into the Gallery app, and you finally allowed it.
If the problem persists, just relaunch and remove the N1 dock ;)

The thing is, it happened yesterday too. It might have been happening before too, yesterday was the first day I've checked the gallery close to taking it off the dock. It's probably been happening every day for a while since it has today and yesterday but I never checked the gallery in that time frame. It just seems like after an hour or so it lets the SD images into the gallery and everything is fine.

I'll see if it happens with the stock dock software and report back tomorrow.

Alright. Cool. Thanks.
That way, if someone ever has this problem again we'll be able to help 'em out.
Pretty interesting glitch though.

Used the stock multimedia dock software last night and everything was working fine this morning. I'll use the N1 dock again tonight and see what happens tomorrow morning but it seems to be that the N1 clock app was causing the problems.

Used stock again last night and sure enough this morning my SD card photos aren't in the gallery. I guess I'll be sticking with the N1 clock and just assume it's some crazy glitch in the OS. I'll switch to a normal plug charge tonight with no dock and see what happens.

Maybe it's your sd card?

But they show up fine when I go into change the wallpapers and it brings up the gallery so I don't know how it would be my SD.

By chance, is your dock connected to your PC and not the wall charger? If so, it takes your Droid a few minutes to reindex your SD card. While this is happening you may not be able to see content stored there.

Let me know...
