HD in a Samsung tab?

Asus and Acer have gone HD in two of their 10" devices. Samsung is the master of the flatpanel display, and I love the look - color balance, temperature, contrast - of them. But I also love the HD on my Nexus 7 and Asus TF700. If Samsung did HD in either 7 or 10" I'd be all over it, assuming it actually, you know, *performed* well (I'm looking at you, Acer). Anyone hear rumors to that effect?

The Galaxy Note is going to be Samsung 's flagship device. Rumor has it that it will be available end of the month.

Sent from another Galaxy... Tab 2 10.1

You mean, the 5" smartphone? That's it - not even a 7"? Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it's kind of small for movies, and serious reading. I use my Nexus 7 when I'm going to read a while - my Razr when I'm just killing a little time with a book.

In addition to the 5.3-inch Galaxy Note "phablet" there is an upcoming tablet, the Galaxy Note 10.1 and that will be Samsung's flagship tablet, as the current Galaxy Tab 2 models are midrange devices.

Awesome. I do have to say, the word "phablet" always makes me roll my eyes and feel slightly nauseous. Bloggers however seem to love it and think it's clever. They have to have their I'm-cooler-than-you tech blogger terms though. Or even outright stupid ones, like "Jesus Phone".

I can't make my mind up about the Note. I have a 5" Samsung Player which I think is just about the best toy ever. It's with me 24/7. It seems to be roughly the size of the Note. But I can't see myself using it as a phone. It's just too big. But if it (the Note) comes HD, well, I might be persuaded to change my mind!
