hdmi?

Hey guys. I'm rooted Mikg 3.11 with the kernel that comes with the ROM and just bought a hdmi cord for my phone today online b/c i downloaded a show and want to watch it on TV. My question is will I just be able to plug it up and watch or do I need to do anything?. I mean why is the slot there if I need to do anything special to watch?. Any help is appreciated.

If you plug it in and your phone doesn't immediately mirror on the screen you'll need to flash a kernel that has hdmi cooked in. I'm running Mikg 3.0 and the anthrax kernel. Hdmi works flawlessly. Good info to be found at themikmik.com
