Mine does not fit loose at all. Its about as snug as the Micro USB Charging / Data Port.

Ugh. I think I'm gonna try and get a new cable. My friend just came by and tested it with his. It's noticeably more snug than mine. Mine is definitely more loose. But his freezes then reboots every single time as soon as it's plugged in. So I don't kno what to think. Neither of them work, but they're having completely different problems. I'm just gonna try to get a new cable. If the same thing happens then I'm gonna have unroot and go back to stock which is gonna be annoying and bring it to Sprint. I'm sure they're just gonna give me another one. I'll just have to do a Nandroid backup.... BLAH!

He's running VaelPak 1.3a. I just tried it a few minutes ago on yet another friends Evo. he's running a stock 2.2 Evo and his froze too.

So bizarre..I just ordered mine from Ebay last night so I can see what the deal is. Have you tried nand backup and flashing stock froyo to see if you have the same results?

Honestly no. Do you mean a stock ROM or just flat out going back to unrooted 2.2? Because I've thought about doing that, but it'll be SO annoying to have to do the process of going back to 2.1 and then rerooting and what not. Not that big of a deal I guess... I can always do it while knockin down some Medalla's lol...

Haha hell ya man. My brother just got back from PR and brought some Medalla's. I'm going next week and I can't WAAAIIIT!!

Lol anyway... I thought about just doing the AC-ROM. that's basically as stock as you can get right? Or is SteelH's or netarchy more stock?

I just went this past June, saw family and stayed at El Conquistador in Fajardo... it was awesome!

Anyway, I just looked at AC-ROM and I'm not really familiar with it but it looks like its stock 2.2 with root and BusyBox installed. So I guess that's as stock as it gets.

CAN'T WAAIT!!! LOL I can't say it enough. I'm gonna put my Evo in a zip lock bag and record under water! HAHA..... No I'm really not but that would be funny. I have a deticated video camera for that haha..

I'm gonna throw the AC-ROM right now. I'll post back in a few minutes and see if it worked. If it does, Mr. Vaelek has some work to do haha.

If it still doesn't work, and you're in the troubleshooting mood, I'd try to flash SteelH's RevE3 (stock Froyo, not the updated OTA version) just to be extra sure.

Ugh... Just flashed the AC-Rom and this time instead of it at least playing video, it does the same as my friends, freezes instantly and then reboots. I dunno WTF is going on now. That's weird... It HAS to be my phone. If it was the cable I would have the same problem on all ROMs.. I'm gonna trry SteelH's... If that doesn't work then I think I might have to go to Sprint... I wonder if I were to just throw a completely bone stock rooted 2.2 rom if they'll notice the difference... Then again, they'll probably just give me a new phone anyway... BLLAAHH!!


Edit: Well just tried SteelH's rom. Now I'm really confused... I definitely think it's the phone. But not sure if it's hardware related or what... With VaelPak the video works perfect. There's just no sound. What's weird is with the 3 straight up Sense roms I've tried, it freezes instantly as soon as I plug it in. But VaelPak is based off Sense, and he hasn't touched HDMI. I dunno what to do... If it's the cable then it shouldn't work on any ROM right? Then again you can say the same about the phone being defective, if it's hardware related then it shouldn't work with either ROM either.. Unless it's a combination of both? Maybe the cable is bad and just isn't putting audio out but the straight up Sense roms are broken too which is causing the freeze?

Btw, just realized something.. It's a 15ft cable.. could it just be too long?

Do your cables fit loosely into the HDMI port?

I am involved in another thread where some peple get video only but if they hold it a certain way audio works.

On my EVO, the cable i have works great, and it fits in there nice and snug. Similar to the charger. Just curious if the calbe is loose or not.

Ya the cable is loose. No matter how I hold it I never get audio. But the video will go in and out. I'm starting to think it's my phone. I'm gonna go to best buy later today and see if it works on other tvs.
