I've used the stock ones and like the control it gives, but the headphones don't fit my ears very well. So, now I'm wondering if I can add this to other ones I have that work well or what I need to see before ordering to verify they are ones that will function with the phone. My guess would be any that don't work with iPhone, but it won't require the app like in the past. I'm just not sure about that theory.

Thanks,

Shawn

Volume control in the earphone can be done in a few ways. Use your feet to go to the store and try the earphones out before paying for them. (BTW, they're not "controls", they're "reducers" - they can't amplify the sound coming from the phone, all they can do is reduce it.)

Many companies make both Android and iOS versions of their headphones with controls. I just look on Amazon that mention they work with Android. You should be set. I usually don't buy the ones with controls though because I use both OSes.

The stock Note 7 headphones change the volume setting on the phone. They allow for fast forward, rewind, skip forward, and skip back. I have a set of Sony that do as you are thinking. All they do is lower the volume down from what is coming out of the phone. I want controls. I don't have any stores around me other than Best Buy to look for something of this nature, so I will be ordering online. Most likely from Amazon.

I just want them for when I'm on the lawn mower and tractor as I can't easily get to the phone to change tracks or volume and from time to time I need to hear the what is going on around me.

Guess I'll just order on Amazon so I can return if they don't work. Thought someone would know, but this is pretty new for an Android phone.
