i love the Apple iPhone headset. a great value at $29 IMO. sleek, light, durable, high quality, good sound, inexpensive, with microphone/click button, and easily purchased and replaceable. and this is the only Apple product i've ever bought in my life!

I think the Apple ones work well for business. For me, I need something with a good mic with a MUTE button and something I can hear them clearly. The mute is key when your on a conference call in your car or something and you need to MUTE the line when your note talking (so your not the supply business executive with noise in the background). However, the Apple Earbuds ($30) ones are not good for music. I am looking for something that can give me good music sound & a MUTE button. Maybe that is the $79 pair of Apple In Ear Buds. Any advice as to where to look...please share.

The Nexus 5 seems to drive my Sennheiser HD25-II's just fine, though they are known for being easy to drive. I haven't really played around with headphones with the device much as I have been hooking my Toshiba Thrive up to my speaker system and playing Christmas music nonstop. I have been pretty busy with finals coming up next week but when I have time I plan on loading up some FLAC files and testing it out.

If you are looking for something cheap that will sound amazing look no further. They are my running pair and I love them.

Hi guys, maybe you could help me with this. I need, for my Nexus 5 but also to be used for my Macbook Air 2013 13'':

-in-ear or ear-bud
-wired
-comfortable, stable (for running, so perhaps something to attach to the ear)
-will be used with Nexus 5 (Android) and Macbook Air (Windows 7). MP3 music for the most part
-if in any way possible, I need the next/previous track buttons on the controller on the cable. I can spend more if necessary for this
-up to something like 50$. Only if you think the sound will be bad will I go above. I simply don't think it is worth it to pay more for in-ear headphones.

Okay no thanks to Google staff I have found that Philips earphones work for volume, skip, calls, mic the lot. The sound aint what i'd call brilliant but if you downlaod app you can mess with it a bit. I asked about 4 different staff at Google what earphones would work for volume and they couldn't be less interested, must be bringing out their own. Perhaps they should have thought of that before releasing N5

BTW the Google Play store(India) is providing the D-821 Model With Headphones in the box.

Yes, google Franch store provides headphone in the box as well.
Anyone knows why North-America store doesn't provide headphone? Either LG or Google has discriminational sale policy in some regions.

Could you please tell me exactly which headphones microphone worked for your Nexus 5? I have a Nexus 5 and the microphone on my JLab earbuds set does not work - people can't hear me at all. I need to be able to speak into the mic on a headphone set, seems the Nexus 5 doesn't work with most headsets. This seems like a HUGE oversight. If you have found a set of in-ear headphones with a microphone that works with the Nexus 5, please let me know what it is.

This website is a great resource, you can look up reviews on any headphones, buds or headset you are considering.
Personally, I prefer using Koss PortaPro's. Because they are "open" phones where you can hear everthing around you, they are safer for walking and when you talk into your phone, using the phone's mic, you can clearly hear your own voice. And their sound is fantastic for the money.

I would like to recommend the Plantronics Backbeat GO 2 bluetooth headphones I just received yesterday. I was previously using the Novero Rockaway's for a few years but the quality was lacking, they started to fall apart and the Plantronics quality and more importantly to me, the sound quality is Stunning for bluetooth. I paid about $80 CAD on Amazon.

If you can manage the price it will be one of the best decisions you ever made to get Bluetooth headphones. On the occasion that I forgot to charge them and I go back to my wired backups for use at the gym, the cabling drives me bananas!

they work great for calls and music. however - don't expect the volume up/down feature to work because that is an Apple iPhone proprietary feature. otherwise - they are awesome!

i am surprised to hear that you guys hav't got a ear piece with the phone. i have got nexus 5 32 gb last month with a head set.

i am just came to this forum about the review of the ear phone which i havn't used till date as i use my AUX cable to connect to my car audio system.

i hope those ear phones have a mic.
even if it does not Nexus coes with 2 mics and quite efficiently picks up my voice in a call from guite a distance. " in my car from the co-driver seat" Really happy with what i got.

yes the only problem is the volume adjustment on the music player which often gets stuck at 50% level dure to some software warning.

Apple earplugs work but forget the commands, volume doesn't work and button command only work to play/stop music not even shut down a call.
