Does this phone get heated just by normal usage? Getting a moving day b y day, just praying the new battery will address this.

I must have just gotten lucky or something but my Note 7 runs cool to the touch all day long. Even when I use it with the Gear VR it never gets anywhere near as hot as other Samsung phones used to.

Light use shouldn't cause heat. Medium use should cause some, but not much, heat. It is normal for it to get hot from heavy use. If your phone is heating up too much, get the battery replaced as part of the recall before it goes boom.

If your phone is heating up doing simple tasks, it's defective and could in fact, blow up.

Be prepared to exchange it

Yah definitely exchanging, but thought this would be more of CPU heat rather than battery. Since I am not even charging (only charge during night bed time) during day to day use.

By "normal usage", if you mean by activities like Browsing the Internet, using social networking apps, or using apps other than games, etc., then no device should heat up at an alarming rate. If so, then go for a replacement as soon as possible.

Yep normal regular usage here too, internet, messaging, emails that's it lol

Mine got hot twice, once while setting it up, another time while driving and I was using it for gps, streaming audible via Bluetooth, and charging it. That scared me, so once the recall was brought up I returned it. I have a jeep and generally have the top off whenever it's nice, so even after being fixed, gotta admit this still concerns me now....hopefully they fix these right, I do miss the phone a lot!

I don't know how hot it got, but most phones being charged plus navigation plus you were streaming audio plus if it were warm out, that's like the perfect storm for a cell phone battery.

My phones don't usually heat up unless I've been watching video, and updating apps, while doing normal use stuff. If you have a few processes running, it's normal, however if you're positive that only your normal light services are being used, then I'd get it checked out.

The more your phone has to be charged by running it down. The more your gonna feel heat.
You can't totally transfer energy to charge a battery without heat.
Sometimes it may get hotter than other times.
If I was scared when it charged.
I would put it on a Hot Plate or in a frying pan and let it charge.
And don't go to sleep with it on charge.
Gonna be another week before I think the new Note 7 will be released.
