Heating up quickly with few minutes of charging / video playback and loosing USB connection frequent

Well its almost 20 days and this beast is proving awesome. Very very good battery life and awesome screen. Zippier apps and everything was just nice.

But since yesterday things seems to go a bit wrong.
First while copying some movies to the phone using USB from my laptop, it started disconnecting frequently. I was simply not able to copy movie. It failed many times, my PC saying device is not ready / disconnected messages. So I ended up copying it over WiFi.

Now I watch movie for few minutes, the phone seems to heat up incredibly.
Also now I realize when I put it on charging, damn it also gets heat up, but not as hot as when watching movie.

Now I want to know if I can have some app installed which will show the temperature in the taskbar while playing movies, so that I can confirm the behavior and can also record the same.

Anyways guys what you think? Will factory reset solve issue. I dont think so, though. Get replacement? Though I will be testing it for few days.

Had you installed or updated any apps just prior to the issue? If so, try uninstalling them to see if that helps. Normally the phone will only heat up considerably when running CPU-intensive apps (in my experience it's mostly gaming), a category into which video players generally do not fall. As to heating while charging, it's not uncommon for the phone to get warm (particularly if using Qi charging), but it shouldn't be excessively so.

If you're within the period in which you have the right to return your device, I'd certainly contact the seller before that time runs out if you don't find a resolution. If the problem isn't app-related, better to simply get a 'new' replacement now to remove concerns about it evolving into something worse in the future and needing to get a 'refurbished' replacement.
