Hello all - New to Android!

OK all. First Major issue -

This morning, I've come to find that the unit is in "vibrate" mode unbeknownst to me, although the "sound" indication is pointed to "sound," and all the other settings for sounds are checked on (i.e. when you tap this or that), or unlock the lock screen, etc. etc. Nothing sounds, but it does give the very short vibrate (which is also checked).

I power down and up the device. Lo and behold, I get the Galaxy S5 logo and sound, followed by the Verizon logo. It goes into lock mode. And, sure enough, when I flick to get out of lock mode, I get the sound and the home page. Buttons I click sound right off... for maybe about 20-30 seconds. And then, back to no sound, short vibrate only.

I power down & up again, same pattern, several times. The sounds come back right after power up, but go silent again after maybe 20-30 seconds.
All that's left are the short vibrating pulses.

I'm not sure what's going on here, nor what I did to make it do that.... When I last tried the Power down/up procedure, I did have the unit charging so I don't know if that was a factor or not.

???

Thanks much!

Update: Never mind.... It seems to have gone back to normal.. Not sure what I did, but it is sounding off regularly.

Update: Problem resolved! :D

I had purchased a bluetooth ear device for the phone, and paired it appropriately. It works. A little "too well." :D

Apparently, when the device is "activated," it puts the phone on "mute/vibrate" (as opposed to "sound"). Whatever sound would play is now channeled through to the device and plays there. Once I "power off" the bluetooth device, the sound returns to the phone. There is even an indicator on the "bluetooth" symbol (on the phone's screen) to show when it's active and not.

Problem solved!

Thx.

Glad you got it sorted out. Thanks for posting the follow up. See you around the forums.
