Indianapolis HTC EVO 4G and Samsung Epic user here. Android newcomer looking for answers. Had the devices almost 8 months and I absolutely love them. Very stoked I found this site because I've been looking for answers on how to remove the glutware installed on my phone. I have a pathetic 150MB to spare and I know alot of the internal memory is used for junk like Amazon, Kindle, and Sprint Sport crap. None of which I'll ever use and Sprint can't do anything so now that I'm here, I'm hoping to find helpful procedures and experiences on which items I can safely remove without hobbling my device or bricking it.
I hear 'Rooting' a lot so I'm guessing that's something I'm going to need to do before I can dig deep into the device and save it. Also, how many users still use the standard battery and how long does it usually last? I can get about 4-8 hours out of it under heavy use (no screen timeout...I use it at work to jot down notes, conversions, picture and video shooting, etc). Are there any other batteries that have higher capacities without giving the phone a pregnant look with a modified back plate?
Anyhoo, off through this site to find what I'm looking for. So glad I found this site!
