Hello Crackberry defectors!!!

Well it is now official. I have defected from my crackberry over to Android. :)

Just got my Incredible delivered today & I have been in heaven for the past 9 hours playing with it & getting it all set up :)

I still visit CrackBerry quite often. I tried to help out people over there, and I still do.

I'm also still developing BB apps, so it's good to hang out and see what is going on in that front. I still have three BBs I use for app testing.

I'm hoping to get onto the Android development side of things, too. Just wrapping up a Playbook app first.

I just got rid of my BB Bold 9650 last week in exchange for the HTC Evo. All I can say is WOW, I've managed to get superb battery life and the feature-set speaks for itself.

I do miss BBM though!

Welcome my fellow Crackberrians. I'll read through there articles from Facebook every now and then to see what's new but its the same old stuff over and over. So glad I switched.... RIM is going nowhere. Sooner or later you will snap out of the dream that something good will happen over there.

RIM's announcement for their new phones sounds great, but then you hear release date of Q3 and it's going to be out of date. They are releasing 1.2GHz phones, nice for now but by Q3, it will be dual-core. Their superapp is poynt and urbanspoon...ugh.. Not much of super app for me.

I rarely go on Crackberry now. Still check it out here and there but rarely post on there. For about every 200 post here, I do about 1 there.

Probably the only two things that RIM still holds a upper hand with are.

1. Email system is still a strong performer over Android, but Andriod is quickly capitalizing.

2. Cut and Paste is still something that Android just doesn't have going in the right direction. Blackberries operate so similar to Windows cut and paste and I really miss having that to post links and copy URLs without all the hassles involved in Android's cut/paste.

Otherwise I'm Android all the way! Never looking back at my Crackberry days.

You know... I may have to agree with you. There are some little knick knacks in email management that I miss from BB. I also miss the EASY cut/paste...

What is so hard about long pressing the URL, selecting copy, then long pressing anywhere else in the OS and selecting paste?

If you really love copy paste, install swype. It will copy paste through every part of Androids OS. Email, web, whatever. I have taught others to use the copy paste function of android, and if you want I can post my totorial here. It really is cake once you use it for the first time some.

No, I don't miss Truncated emails.

You realize that their Q3 is earlier than a normal years Q3 right.....

I used to love my BB as well and would tell everyone to go to them. I went to Droid and thought, what was I thinking.

I don't think I am a defector; more like mercenary since I have no alligence to any os system. That being said; I still go to crackberry to help out users with techical os issues especially the ones related to the Storm 1&2.

My personal phones are a BlackBerry 9800. My company issued me a Motorola Droid 2 Global. So I use both. Plus I'm thinking about purchasing a T-Mobile G2x to use for WiFi calling when I'm international.

Hello, I'm a brand new defector. Changed factions just 3 days ago.

Although, if I still keep my old BB around for media playing while jogging does it count as a full defection? My Android phone is on the big size and doesn't quite fit on the armband.

You CAN love both platforms and sites! ;) i do! i have a BB 9930 and a PlayBook in the CB world and a Droid X and Galaxy Tab in the AC world. ;)

I'm probably another one soon to jump ship. Looking at getting the SGS2 in the next few weeks...or wait to see if they release a white version in the US. I'm planning to keep my BB's though just as a back up.
