Well hello there! :)

Since you're here, do you actually have any questions regarding your device? (Root, custom recovery, custom ROM installation, etc.)

Actually yes, i been so wanting to have root phone, but is been somewhat hard to find a way to do it, but then again i dont know what i am doing and i am afraid i can screw things up on my phone by me doing something wrong

since we are talking aout rooting i also want to root my amaze 4g.. was wondering how upgrading to ice cream sandwich will effect my phone. i dont have a carrier based phone so no upgrades

To both Honbrok and Evil, Rooting requires ROM specific files. You can try searching how to root your devices on Google, but since ZTE devices aren't all that popular, You may not have much luck. You can also try XDA forums, but be advised, they are a bit snobby; I know, I am on the forums, and I have seen how most of them answer noob questions. That is why I do all reasearch forst, then go to them looking for files I need.

Rooting won't give you ICS, rooting just gives you the ability to flash (install) a custom ROM to your device. Cyanogen Mod covers many devices (although I dislike this ROM) and is probably your best bet.

Some pieces of advice, and this is regarding any device; 1. Make sure the root procedure and ROM you are flashing are for you EXACT device model number. 2. NEVER flash international ROMs to a US carrier device. This will result in bricking (rendering the device useless) 3. Try to obtain a copy of your original ROM incase of a bad flash or you just hate it. 4. If you are unsure of anything, please ask us. We will try to help as much as possible. It is better to not do anything and ask a question or six than to plow forward and mess up your device.
