Hi All,

I'll try not to show my bitterness over the demise of my beloved Windows Mobile and some of its great features

Balancing price, OS version, and features, I picked up a Galaxy S7. So far I've been setting it up but haven't switched my sim to it yet.

Hi. Welcome to the Forums. I, too, loved Windows Phone. I had to leave it when my Lumia 640XL ceased to work. I had an S7 Edge and it is a great phone. It is an older phone but it was a flagship and should still run fast enough for most apps.

Welcome to Android Central! I too lament the demise of Windows. I have always wanted a yellow Nokia Lumia-series phone... Sad that that will never happen.

I also am a former Windows Phone user, retired mod team leader and still a regular mod on Windows Central.

I switched to Android in March 2015. Android has improved quite a lot since then, so I'm sure you'll get on fine with Android now.

Welcome! My first smartphone was also Windows based (hand me down HTC 7 Trophy T8686), and I also have an old Windows phone (Lumia 535) I got from my mom that I use as a tinkering device after I kludged Windows 10 onto it (I had a little fun with Interop tools, the GOD of all WP apps). I also love Android as it was what my first smart device, the Galaxy Tab 2, ran (and it is generally better and more feature rich than WP) and as a Samsung user (currently S8 and Tab S3) I can assure you that you will come to love Samsung and Android! ENJOY! Sadly though Android devices aren't as flexible as they were 6 years ago...

I had the GS7 edge when it came out, great phone, I gave it to my mom when the Note 8 came out.
That GS7 edge it's still going after all this time.
