The title says it all. I carried my account name over from P|C. My Sprint Pre (as well as my wife's, but we don't know if Android is where she will go) is two years old this month, and though it has served me well, HP tells me it is time to move on. So, here I am, trying to figure out what would be the best Android device for me.

I'm a refugee too. Seems that most Pre- users are getting the Evo 3D or the Motorola Photon. I"m leaning towards the Photon myself. I need something that gets better reception since I live between 2 towers and get poor reception at home. You'll find Sticky Messages in both forums for webOS users.

I see Evo 3D, Photon, and Nexus S pop up a lot. Also Epic for physical keyboard. I may try to get to a Sprint store tonight and start playing around with phones. It will be a few weeks, at the least, before I actually move. And the possibility is still there of leaving Sprint anyway, even if not for the Pre 3.

Welcome to AC....If Sprint is the best deal, carrier and coverage for you then it will be hard to leave that. Depending on what you fancy, The best phone for you & wife is the Epic when coming from the Pre and a physical keyboard. I f you are ready to try touchscreen then right now The Photon should serve you well. If you can/want to wait for abit. Theres the PAX < its a dual core XRPT with a better Keyboard. the Epic2 is rumored to be coming out but the specs seem to make it a low highend phone. The GSII which is what im waiting for should be coming soon too. If you can wait you will have better choices but if not whats out right now are pretty good. Good luck

Wanting to stay with Sprint is mainly to avoid having to worry about data usage, there are compelling reasons to go with either AT&T (soon to provide blackberry service for work, which means we get repeaters on campus), and VZW, which I know (from roaming on them and having been a customer of their's for 6 years on feature phones before going to Sprint two years ago) has coverage in some areas where I would like it. It will probably be after September 5th before I actually do anything, barring getting an outstanding deal on something.

First impressions. I like the Photon and Nexus S. Not sure I can go with the landscape slider keyboard of the Epic. I tried the XPRT and didn't like the feel. It seemed in some way clunky.

Well the current $50 upgrade offer from BB on the Nexus S is compelling, and I kinda liked the vanilla Android.

So I pulled the trigger on the Nexus S yesterday. It's a good phone. I really miss the multitasking though. I mean, a lot.
