Hello,

Background:
I don't have the means to pay for internet separately, so I rooted my Evo to Wirelessly tether 4G (Not 3G). I used unrevoked method. I then downloaded CM7 using ROM Manager after backing up all my data. When I rebooted into CM7, the phone got stuck on the CM7 demo screen forever. I took out the battery and rebooted my phone. Here's my software info before and after rooting:

Before:
Firmware Version: Android 2.2
Baseband Version: 2.15.00.11.19
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.17-gee557fd, htc-kernel at and18-2 #15
Build Number: 3.70.651.1 CL294884 release-keys
Software Number: 3.70.651.1
Browser Number: WebKit 3.1
PRI Version: 1.90_003
PRL Version: 60677

After:
Firmware Version: Android 2.1-update1
Baseband Version: 1.39.00.04.26
Kernel Version: 2.6.29-a2443432, htc-kernel at and18-2 #1
Build Number: 1.32.651.1 CL171253 test keys
Software Number: 1.32.651.1
Browser Number: WebKit 3.1
PRI Version: 1.90_003
PRL Version: 01115

The Problem:
My phone is stuck on Android 2.1 and I can't tether. I can't update the software either.

Objective:
I need restore the newest version of Android, Install CM7, and be able to tether 4G wirelessly. Please help.

should not need to follow that thread as CM7 is 2.3.3. Sounds like ROM did not install correctly. try to install again from recovery and make sure you wipe everything but SD card. Wipe Data, dalvik etc. and then install CM7 from .zip this should fix your issues.
