(help) Adb Error

Okay so i haven't done anything new to my PC in a while i don't know if its just me being an idiot but my Adb keeps giving me an output saying. Is this just human error or is there something i need to fix i have tried reinstalling android SDK and a standalone Adb program is still didn't work what could it be my phone?

C:\zvhrec>adb shell
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
ADB server didn't ACK
* failed to start daemon *
error: cannot connect to daemon

I had a similar issue and uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers did the trick for me.
