Hi guys, today when I was using my mini Android generic 4.4 projector, I greedily wanted more performance from this potato projector. So, I went to the developer options and enabled USB debugging. Maybe I also pressed "unlock bootloader." After that, I switched the GPU renderer or something similar from OpenGL to Vulkan. Then, I rebooted my mini Android generic 4.4 projector, and it got stuck in a bootloop. I'm extremely worried, so I bought a USB male-to-male cable to perform USB burning, but unfortunately, it didn't show up in the device ID. I have watched over 56 videos, but they didn't help. So, I just registered on Android Central forums, hoping that veterans or technicians can help me solve this problem. Fortunately, it connected to my Android phone using a data transferring cable, but I don't know what to do. PLEASE HELP ME! My brain cannot comprehend this stuff like you, talented individuals. PLEASE, BROTHER, HELP ME! ONLY YOU GUYS CAN HELP ME. And also my mini android generic 4.4 projector doesn't have any volume up or down button it only has arrow, back, setting and enter button.

Specs Information:

RAM: 2 or 1GB RAM
ROM: 16GB storage
CPU: I don't know
OS: Android 4.4
Device Name: DLP Taxes Instruments iData U80
Device Type: Mini Android 4.4 Portable Projector

Welcome to Android Central forums.

Sorry to hear about your projector. I'm not able to find this projector by the name you provided. When I search one pops up on AliExpress but has a different name, BYINTEK. Anyway I was just looking to see if the unit had any buttons other than a power switch. I don't know projectors and without being able to find anything specific to your device this is all guess work on my part.

The first thing I would do would be to look in the instruction manual for factory reset options. This might be a simple as a button on the device. It would probably be a small hole that you would have to poke with a SIM tool. Either with power or while powering it up. Obviously if their method requires being logged in to the device this would be a no-go.

If this were a phone I would say power it on while holding a button like the Vol + or -, but since it is not maybe it has some other button combination you can hold while powering the unit on to see if it boots into safe mode, the bootloader or some other boot option. If it has buttons I would hold them each one at a time while trying to power up the device preferably in Safe Mode so that you can access Developer Options. You might try all combinations to see if you can find safe mode, if it has one. Again I don't know projectors, just throwing stuff out there.

Beyond that I don't have much else that could be considered useful except contacting the MFGr's help/customer service to see if they have any suggestions. I might not mention your tinkering and just check if they have any advice or perhaps offer to exchange the unit if it's still under warranty.

Android 4.4? Wow, KitKat is a decade old, a really dated version as far as Android mobile devices.
I agree with VidJunky's posting, try doing whatever you can to reboot up into its Safe Mode and see if you can reverse this alterations you made in Developers Options.

Otherwise, that projector being so dated it's not likely its original manufacturer will provide support or have the necessary firmware on its web site. (...typically when a device gets stuck in a boot loop, flashing the stock ROM will fix the problem.) So if you're not able to reverse what you did previously, your options are too good to restore it back to working condition again. It might be best to invest in a new or at least newer projector anyway. Newer gadgets will likely be more capable.

As far as flashing goes you would have to look at the MFGr's help page for how to update the device, which should also include a link to any file that is needed. Since we were unable to find your exact device online there is only so much help we can offer in that regard. Even if you find everything, the MFGr's webpage, the last update file and the directions on how to perform the update, it is very likely that you will need to get it to boot up. Are you telling us that there are no buttons on the device, is that why you're considering this route?

Beyond that I will have to agree with smvim and say it may be time to get a new projector.

Best wishes

Something to keep in mind is you're wasting a lot of time and effort trying to restore this projector. It's an off-brand device that's really dated. Even if you were able to successfully flash a stock firmware (again, not likely available anyway), that's not a guarantee that will even fix the problem. That's a software solution and being so old there's also a good chance there's a failed component inside. That's a hardware issue, that software cannot fix.
Start looking for something new.
