HELP! Bricked my Droid X

Thank you I wasn't sure what the number was haha. I would also like to know how you got it to recognize your phone because I would like to be able to use my Mac to do it and not have to go to my parents' house everytime I screw my phone up haha

Now tunning Rooted Gingerbread...

NICE! Worth the wait for root!

Which GB are you running hopefully .588 or else you are already behind:( but what did you do that got your phone to be recognized on XP? I have a virtual PC running XP on my MacBook and couldn't get my X to be recognized even after reinstalling 4.7 then 4.8 then 4.9 each time and then reinstalling and updating the drivers several times. Like I said then as soon as I plugged it into windows 7 it auto d/led the drivers and was up in a minute then I sbfed in another like 10 min

.588. I don't know what happened. The phone finally connected to RED lite and reset back to Verizon standard. I z4rooted and applied the rooted.588

If he has red M logo he is on Ginger and recovery is different. Its NOT search button. Hold both volume buttons once at android image.

Reference post #6

Good point, I missed that and was thinking of the Droid Eye Boot animation... But holding both volume buttons and power will access Bootloader mode not recovery..

Are you sure it can be done via a virtual PC on a Mac? I haven't heard of anyone being able to do it that way, but I haven't delved into any Mac related RSD discussions.

Yup. But I didn't say hold both volume buttons and power. To enter GB recovery you said hit the search button. Its both volume buttons. That's why I referenced post #6 where I gave instructions for entering recovery by holding power+home. Then at the bottom of first page we talk about entering bootloader. Which can be done multiple ways as shown by kentusmc.
