My coop has a front door keypad entry system for all residents. When the two digit number is pressed at the keypad, my Evo rings. Then I am supposed to be able to let the person in by pressing "9" on the EVO. But that does not work. The person who programs the buzzer system is stumped. We called Sprint and they had no answer and said it is possible the EVO cannot be used with this system to let someone in by pressing "9". Anyone know of how to rectify this?

Wow i dont know what you are talking about or how to fix it but i love the fact u can use ur phone like that this phones a beast.

A friend of mine has an Evo and she can press the button to buzz people in just fine.. I wonder what's going on with your system where it's not recognizing the touch tone.

Try the Dial One phone app. If it doesn't work initially, go to settings (in the app) and try different setting for the DMTF Tone Interval.

Don't know if that'll help or not, but it's worth a shot.

Has nothing to do with the Evo. That's how the apartment entry system works. It should work with ANY phone. If it doesn't work with the Evo, then I'd say the Evo is weak, not a beast.

I believe that there is a setting for whether you want the touch tones the phone sends out to be long or short. Perhaps your's is set to short and that's not enough for the apartment's systems to recognize it. I'm not sure where that option is, but poke around and I'll bet you can find it.

It's that the tone is not long enough for the telephone entry unit to register it. Try tapping a few times quickly and see if that works.
