Help.. Can't use face or hand unlock. They died.

I cursed myself by bragging about my new G8 too soon. LOL

Tonight I noticed I no longer can get face unlock or hand gesture unlock methods to work.

I don't know what I changed in my settings. It worked fine since Saturday.

Any ideas what I need to check?

I deleted my hand and face data and redid it all but still not working.

I pick up the phone and all I see is the AOD clock.

Note that fingerprint unlock works.

I'm sure it's something simple but I'm stumped.

Any fix ideas?

just curious, did you enroll your G8 in a work based managed device system(MDM)? Wondering if a policy is not allowing those features for security reasons.

Well I'm an *****.

Kept digging and tweaking only to discover I had the Smart Lock set to on so phone stayed "unlocked while with mr.

Still not sure though why it made it more of a PITA with it on. Had to click power or tap phone, the swipe just see phone.

Oh well, mystery mostly solved.

Smart Lock was 100% cause of my issue(s). I wiped all of it and will stop using it.

I keep smart lock on when connected to my car with the phone in a mount. Makes it easy yo access if I need with a tap and swipe if I absolutely need to access something like maps while on the road.
It definitely can be useful under certain conditions.
