Help - Closing an app on my One

Hello All:

How Do you completely close an app? I was playing music using the Playtube app, I exited the app, yet I still saw the Playtube icon on the notification bar. I dropped down the notification bar and the app appeared as though it was still open. I then double pressed the home button, and removed Playtube, however the app icon still shows on the notification bar. How can I completely close the app?

With the music app i think you have to pull down the notification bar and touch the 'x' in the right corner

Some apps seem to be pretty stubborn when it comes to closing... If you already tried to close it normally and it didn't work - just go to "settings", then "apps" then swipe to list of running apps, find whatever app you want to close, click on it, then click on "stop" button.

Actually that didn't work either. I did figure it out though. You must go back into the app, and then properly exit; meaning press the back arrow button and then you'll have an option of 'Background' or 'Exit', be sure to select 'Exit.' You'll then see that the app icon now is gone from the notification bar.

Which music player are you using because i have never had to do that, When i pull down the notification bar there is an x in the top right corner that when touched closes the app

Yea, the 'X' didn't appear when I pulled down the notification bar. I'm a former Touchwiz guy (Infuse, S2, Note I, S3, Note 2) and Sense is completely new to me...thought maybe I was missing something..

Bumping this thread. I'm new to Android coming from 5 years of iPhones. When playing Spotify the music continues to play for a minute or two after I "close" out the app via double clicking on the home button. There is no "X" to close it out from the task bar. When I play Pandora there is an X to close it out, when I play I Heart Radio the app quickly closes out from flicking the app. I can only assume this is an issue with Spotify itself. Anybody else have an issue with it?
