HELP! "Damaged External SD card" Error

Sorry if it's already been posted somewhere (but i couldn't find it), but i just got a dreaded "Damaged External SD card" error on my phone after doing nothing out of the ordinary. Currently running Com 1.3 on Fascinate and have been for awhile now and can't get the sc card to read. Tried removing battery, updating roaming, remounting, and removing card and it still won't read the card. Even when i plug into my computer, i get nothing on it. Any ideas? Thanks ahead of time for trying to help.

Does your computer detect it at all? If so go to a command prompt; then type chkdsk followed by drive letter followed by /r - so if your card is detected as E then do: chkdsk e: /r.

I assume the phone is still under warranty. Verizon will give you a new one for free.

Not under warranty anymore unfortunately, and my computer won't even recognize it. Looks like i might be SOL. strangest thing ever as it came out of nowhere. Thanks for the replies tho

very true, oh well, i got a new 32 g card, so i guess i can just start all over with that one. Thanks again for the replies
