Question Help fixing text box in messages

Somehow my text message box changed while I was getting out of the car. It somehow added a second line to where you type and took away the emoji button on the bottom of the screen. The original screen looks like photo A and the new one is photo B. Is there any way to change it back to photo A style?

yeh this new "feature" is awful.

It's so ugly hopefully there will be a way to turn it off. Also I have no interest in making my own emojis so that whole thing is useless to me.

When there's a change like this, you often can't revert it. Maybe the APK of a previous Google Messages version might do it, but then you'll be constantly notified of an update. And if this is a server-side rollout, then a previous version of the app probably won't help anyway.

yeh this new "feature" is awful.

I don't like it either, as it reduces the size of the window showing previous txts.
. . . and btw, just curious, why is it that animated emo's don't work here on AC?
Do they take/use too much space?

As with anything on a phone that is bothersome, I would recommend sending feedback to Google. They do consider the feedback, but of course if there isn't enough of a groundswell of disapproval, it probably won't be enough for them to modify it further.
