I hope someone can help. I just got my HTC one x and before I got it it worked great. Now I don't have any sound coming from it. I have tried.. holding down the power button and the volume button.. a soft reset.. a hard reset..muting and unmuting.. I have checked all volumes and they are turned up. I can hear sound through headphones. When I get a call or notifications the vibration button shows up like I put my phone on vibration mode. I don't know what else to do any thoughts and returning it is not an option.

So there is no noise coming out from the speakers?

Can you go into the settings then go to the power section and tell me if "fast boot" is checked? If it is, uncheck it and then reboot.

I have tried that still stuck in vibration mode

I'm assuming your phone is stock and not modified in any way right? (root, unlock the bootloader, flashed a rom, etc.)

Correct

Well, it is hard to determine if it is a software problem or a hardware problem since there is equal chance it could be either one. So if you are still under warranty, you may want to send it to HTC?
I've seen people stuck in headphones mode, but not silent mode in your case.
