Help! I cannot get my custom ringtones to stick.

Before we move, on, I go to the contact in the stock contacts app, select edit, scroll down and change the ringtone. I select done and it rings fine with my custom ringtone for a day or two, then all of a sudden it switches to the selected default in the settings app.

My last phone was a LG and didn't have this problem, but I do remember having this exact same issue with the Samsung S2 that I had ages ago. Sadly, I'm starting to remember why I moved to LG all those years ago.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Are you using a SD card? If so, Do you have your custom ringtones saved in there?

Yes, I do.

You could try moving those files to the internal storage and see if it makes a difference.

Use any file manager - My Files comes with the phone. (Copy the files then, if they copy okay, delete the ones on the SD card. If a Move blows in the middle you can lose both copies, if a Copy blows, all you can lose is the copy you're making.)
