I was running apex 1.3.1 and I installed the watermarkd theme. Hated it so i bootsrapped went to rom manager and then restored my good apex cwm recovery. Got a force close message so I hit wait power button to reboot. The recovery came up again so I wiped and factory reset. Then when I tried to do the recovery it said this cant be done. Now Im locked in recovery mode. Help me please. What do I do. I lickily got the stock 1.3.1 to boot but i need all that saved info back

So are you stuck in CWM Recovery, or did you get your ApeX 1.3.1 backup booted up and want to recover your Data from a later backup?

First boot on apex will do that. You should have just pulled the battery and reboot the phone. It would have loaded fine. Try and load the backup again and do that.

Yeah i couldnt get it for some reason and no I got the stock apex 1.3.1 back and took it from there but I couldnt restore my fully worked apex restore. Im going to flash liberty and if I dont like it try that restore again with my fingers crossed. Anybody know why clockworkmod would say they cant restore a backup. It actually said right in the boot menu this cant be performed

If you can get it into Bootloader I think it is time you consider flashing your device with RSD Lite and an sbf file. Some files are probably corrupted on your device, the sbf will get you back to a clean slate.

There is only a 2.3.320 sbf, so you will need to run some patch zip files to get to 2.3.340 or just run the maderstock.zip file to get to 2.3.340 following the sbf flash.

Got it. Had to uninstal reinstal bootstrap and go from there and got it all back. Flashed liberty to get away from it all for a few but still managed to loose all my contacts somehow which blows but oh well i guess

Contacts are the last thing you should lose. They should be on the cloud servers and sync right over.

I would caution anyone using liberty's toolbox. It is large, and if things aren't done right, and in the right sequence, it may benefit one more to read before theming, clearing davlik, re theming, whatever.

I always had success with liberty, but before I did anything, I would make a nandroid (5 mins) could always go back with one of those;)

Never mind, you are running Apex (my personal favorite) same applies, just nandroid every single time, right before applying themes or .zips
