So, ever since the maintenance update I keep seeing the "Application data space is low" error message. It shows up the moment I turn on my phone and won't go away.

I checked my phone's usage and here's what I see:

SD Card: 5.31 GB Available
Internal Phone Storage: 6.44 GB Available
Phone Memory: 582 MB Available

So, as far as I can tell, my phone is hardly using any primary or secondary storage. Does anyone know what this error message could be referring to?

It's a bug somewhere. There are a bunch of threads and possible remedies (clearing facebook and contacts cache, uninstalling certain apps, etc.). Just do a search for the message you are seeing. In the end, many people are seeing the same message, but not necessarily for the same reason. I had it once when I loaded an beta build of Fennec and once again after that. It went away when I did a factory reset. The bottom line is the OS thinks it's low on memory when it doesn't really appear to be. It's a bug that needs to be fixed with a patch, every other remedy is shot-in-the-dark trial-and-error.

It would be nice if this "update" that got pushed down did something useful like fix this issue or the bump-charging issue. Instead, it's just more crapware. I'm rooted so I've just been ignoring it for a while. Maybe I'll load a different ROM just to stop the nagging.

Yes there are ways to correct it, but HTC needs to acknowledge this problem (which as far as I know they have not) and fix it. It's ridiculous!
