Hey guys, battery life has always been fine on my S8+ but suddenly in the last week or so awful... does anybody know any way to get back to out of the box battery?

Phone has also slowed down quite a bit. Maybe because i am nearly out of memory?

Any suggestions appreciated!

I see you are a new user - welcome to Android Central! Before doing a factory reset, perhaps try the following options:

- put your S8+ into Safe Mode and see if the battery life/lagging still persist. If not, then it is likely an app that is causing some issues for you

- check out your battery usage stats. Perhaps there are a few apps running in the background (maybe they're not updated to the latest software, as well) that are causing a bit of a hog on your battery
--> screenshot your battery usage stats to us so we can assist you too!
--> if you use a battery-intensive app like Facebook or Facebook Messenger, there are some browser Facebook apps that do most of the same functions as the regular app and will use less battery

- have you downloaded any new apps or started using a new launcher or any kind of widget in the last week or so? Sometimes those things can affect battery life as well

Everyone will say factory reset. It's a oain to get your phone back to where it was and also reauthorizated everything.

A few things I do

1. Wipe cache partition
2. Look in developer options for running programs
3. Delete Facebook app and use web app instead
4. Use package disabler

Even with this I still have these issues. It's usually an app that is draining your battery using background services but finding that app or apps can be difficult imo.

thanks for the help guys! i think i will just factory reset as i have all on the cloud anyhow. just so frustrating going from 100 down to 9% by mod day of my phone just in my pocket....
