Help me get better battery life while watching videos

Ok so I really enjoy the S21 ultra but battery life when watching videos seems bad. At work I like to watch Twitch or Facebook Gaming from like 12pm to 5pm, just as background noise. Normally around 12 I have 80-85% left when I start to watch, by 5 I'm at like 20% or less. I have the phone set up how an average person would out the box. My screen is on 1080p with adaptive brightness on. When watching Twitch I have to use cell service but Facebook I can use wifi. Is there any settings I can do before starting to watch that will help conserve battery life?

If it's background noise, you could just do audio only with the screen off.

The twitch app is incredibly poorly optimised and just sucks battery down like nothing else. Don't use FaceBoomer Gaming, but I can't imagine it's much better.

Can you decrease the video resolution further, like down to 720p or even 480p? If it's the background, I imagine you wouldn't really need a full HD image on a phone screen.

In the twitch app I think I have it set at like 480p, but I didn't know if the phones screen itself would be causing it. Or am I just expecting to much from the battery.

What if you turn off Adaptive Brightness and instead manually set the brightness to something a little dim, like maybe 40%?

My husband says that twitch just sucks the battery life out of his Pixel 4XL. It just drains it like crazy. I think the app is the issue here.

Use power saving mode also , toggle on from pull do notification panel

Adjust 120hz display to 60 also

Since YouTube Music doesnt allow background play I drop my screen brightness way down while streaming it since I'm not watching the screen, seems to help alot.

Should help with the S21 as well.

I find it insane that an app from a company as big as Amazon that makes as much money as twitch can be as badly optimised as it is.

I'm also surprised how many twitch viewers we've got in here lol.

The size and success of the company doesn't matter. Facebook is huge and they never seem to get their act together when it comes to the app.;)

I'm constantly on the Rifftrax channel on Twitch (the followup to Mystery Science Theater from Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett, and Kevin Murphy) -- although I use my tablets for that, not the phone. Twitch doesn't really drain my tablet battery significantly more than other apps, but I can't say for sure about the phone.

I wish the Facebook Gaming app was better optimized for our phones. Twitch will allow me to hit the home button and pop up a small window with continuous play. Hit the home button while facebook gaming is going and boom exited out lol.

I enjoy watching Timthetatman...

I just started on twitch about a month or so ago my friend started playing on there and I have found several others I like. I'm still new and trying to figure it all out but I sub to my friend once a month with my free Amazon Prime sub and several people I don't know on other channels have gifted me a sub. I like it! I'm under RockinRosey on Twitch.
