Cons: Huge ugly camera, no NFC

+1 for the G5S+. I bought one and it's pretty good. Funny that the international G5 models include NFC and not in the States.

Why not buy a refurbished flagship phone that will still get Oreo or better. Even the Galaxy S4 still has better hardware specs than a J7. But, newer models can be had for what your asking.

I want a new phone, not used or refurbished. I’ll probably get the T-Mobile Galaxy S7 for $423 on Samsung’s website.

From my experience t-mobile branded samsung devices are pretty awful. IMO id' go with the G5 Plus + (s). Even if it has an "ugly camera" youll be unlocked and carrier wear free which to me is BIG factor...
