My micro SD card fell to the bottom of the slot that receives the cover. Now the cover for the SD slot can't close!

How do I get it out?

I think I may have to open it up. Anyone know

what type and size of screwdriver I need?

Does anyone have tips for doing this?

Please help!!

I got it out! I only had to remove the screws on the bottom edge, slide the big panel open, then remove the screw for the upper little panel. I was then able to access the bottom of card reader. The micro SD was already partway through the slot so I just pushed it all the way out the bottom of the slot.

The most difficult part for me was getting the smaller upper panel back in place.

All in all a pretty easy thing to do.

Thanks for your help!

Excellent first reply, much more useful with the link to the teardown article than the many other links on other sites which just said "take it to the shop" or "take it apart". Thanks.

My pleasure!

I joined the ranks of the stupid and pushed the SD card into the SIMM slot. (To be fair the Serial number sticker was covering the SD slot). Anyway having read this thread I plucked up courage and partially dismantled the case using the tear down instructions. It was relatively easy to get access to the stuck card and thankfully it still worked when I reassembled the case. Thanks for showing this can be a do it yourself job as one can imagine what a repair shop would charge.
