AC Question

As of this morning my Note II suddenly started rebooting constantly while the wifi was connected or 4G connected. The only thing that stops the reboot cycle is to turn off wifi and data, and then it's fine (although obviously has no connection other than network).

I've tried taking the battery out for a few minutes, starting in safe mode (still has the issue), clearing the cache partition in the recovery menu, nothing has worked so far. It lasts about 20 seconds max with data/wifi connected before it reboots again. Short of a factory reset, I don't know what else to try!

This is a GT-N7105 running android 4.4.2

I also have a Note 2 and this issue with continual restarts began for me on 9/21 around 8pm. Like everyone else if I turn off data and wifi, text and the phone work. I uninstalled most apps. I also saw that uninstalling Spotify and Amazon Apps helped, but I uninstalled and disabled them and I am still having the issue. Apparently it is some app that everyone is using that caused the issue. Hopefully this can be resolved.

I had the same problem, started in the night from Sept 21st to 22nd, on a Galaxy S4 Mini, GT-I9195 with Android 4.4.2.

Constant rebooting as soon as the Wi-Fi was on. I found the likely root cause: Instagram. When I log out of the Instagram app, everything is perfect again. I don't even have to uninstall Instagram.

Would be good to know if others can also fix the issue by logging out of Instagram.

I don't have Instagram, so that's not what is causing the problem for me.

Another one Resolved!
I continued to remove apps, and found after removing Twitter and GroupMe (Chat) I was able to use WIFI and Data again on my Note II.

My wife's S3 started having the same problem yesterday. I initially disabled wi-fi / data to fix it as other mentioned.
Later I noticed I could 'turn off' google play services and the issue would go away. My google play services was updated to 8.1.15
in the past few days. I put a older version on the phone using adb and it would work for awhile but then it somehow auto-updated to
8.1.15 again and started rebooting.

Not sure if its really play services or another app that is using it.

This would appear to be a worldwide problem as I'm currently in South Africa with a Samsung Galaxy Note II (bought in the UK) & I have been experiencing the problem since yesterday (22/09). Have tried all manner of App deletions to no avail. Have spoken to friends here and anyone with a Android phone has the problem, not Apple.

A lot of them seem to have resolved by deleting apps, so it does seem to be an app update involved somewhere, but there doesn't seem to be one particular app involved (it would make sense to be something overarching like a Play Store update somebody has mentioned).

So long as the wifi/data is switched off then you can keep the phone from restarting for long enough to try things - turning off autosync, keep deleting apps just in case, disable installed updates, clearing the cache partition in the Recovery Menu and trying to reboot in Safe Mode (although Play would still run in Safe Mode, so this didn't help initially until I deleted other apps?). It looks like one final option is the factory reset, which would hopefully solve the issue but is a lot more hassle... it seems easier to keep deleting apps in the first instance.

An update on mine: this morning I stopped the Amazon app, along with the Amazon App Store app. Turned wifi and the phone didn't restart, so then I turned mobile data on as well. Phone is now fine.

Like Ken Napier1, I disabled Google Play Services and the reboot problem stopped happening. Disabling it caused Google Play Services to revert to version 6.1.88. I think it was 8.1.15 originally. After I enabled Google Play services again, it automatically updated back to 8.1.15, and it also automatically updated a bunch of other apps I had installed. The reboot problem has not returned.

I have seen other forums with similar issue discussion. The key thing seems to be Google Play Services. If you can disable that, and uninstall updates to go back to an older version, it should stop rebooting. I suspect Google has fixed the problem, so I would hope the next automatic update of Google Play Services will be fine. My tablet is running fine now with Google Play Services 8.1.15 (2250156-032).

It is a very old obsolete issue, but several people have posted there about this same new problem.

It is indeed a very strange issue. I resolved my reboot issue with removing Amazon app store and disabling other Amazon related services. The only clue I have related to this is that I "upgraded" my Amazon Shopping app from Google Play to the version from the Amazon app store (I believe is call Amazon Underground). Could this bug be related to people's app coming from app store other then Google Play?

My Phone Keeps Restarting When i use Data connection

My Phone is symphony w32
I changed The display once,
The problem started after that,
so i tried to fix it myself
Used Wipe partition\cash memory, I flashed the phone, Checked the hardware, also tried cleaning the board, even connected the battery permanently using soldering iron, nothing helps

The problem only occurs when i connect to internet, It just keeps restarting over and over again , though sometimes it works fine, sometimes it keeps restarting before even it starts up properly,

HELPPPPPPP!!!!!!!

My samsung has had this problem for a few months, worked fine without wifi. After reading some info about uninstalling certain apps, I knew they probably weren't the problem because I didn't have any of them to remove. I uninstalled google play store updates and the amazon store (mentioned in a few posts). No problems since.

im using a Irola DX758 Pro and am having the same issue. everytime i connect to wifi it reboots. this is a new tablet and have reseted it a few times to factory defaults. i initially thought the problem had to be with google play services/ play store. but i rooted the tablet and uninstalled them both and am STILL having this issue. there is litterly NO other apps installed. has anyone found a fix for this yet?:(

Most of us set the mobile to auto-update apps while the mobile is in wifi, this is why we see this restarting problem while the mobile is connected to wifi.
Now, to determine which app is causing the problem, just observe the mobile while it updates apps and find out during updation of which app did your mobile restart, that's (/they are) the app (s) you've to get rid of.
For me, it was Microsoft Word. I'm sure there are many such bad performance apps in the play store.
