So I've just noticed my phone has been just EATING data for the last few weeks without me realising! I've used up 9GB (!!) in the last 10 days, even though I haven't downloaded anything. Data usage says that it's all Google Services. No idea what it could be, haven't changed phone operation at all in any way recently.

Any clues? I've got a major bill to pay either.. ugh!

Download a data monitoring app and use that to keep track of what is using how much data and see what you can do to prevent it. Also, look through your Google apps and make sure data is not being consumed in the background (i.e. automatic photo backups to Google+). That's a large amount of data to go through in 10-days without actually initiating the data consumption.

Is your carrier reporting this as well as your phone? I stream 2 hours a day of Google music and I do not approach anywhere near that much data in 10 days.

After a little digging it seems that since I'm running a custom ROM (AOKP Milestone 2) Google keeps trying to download 4.3 OTA and then fails to install it. I've downloaded an app to stop the download, but now the battery data shows that 30% of my battery has gone to Google services.. Need to find a permanent workaround asap, else will have to flash 4.3 or something..

That is not 30% of your whole battery, it is 30% of what has been used so far. Not unusual.

Usually I don't have a 30% drain going to Google services. Also, it shows "keep awake" is almost equal to phone on time, meaning it isn't going to deep-sleep anymore. Quite frustrated.

Meanwhile I got my data bill. Good god.

Turn off Google syncing? I only sync manually so that Google services data usage is minimum.
