Help new unmodified hp 10 2101 tablet bricked after system google update

[AC Question]

HELLO MY BRAND NEW TABLET IS BRICKED IT TOOK NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE

my aunt bought a HP 10 Tablet. She hasn't used it at all. it was working fine last year. i came back to use it this year it was exactly how I left it. but then Google play updated all the apps so it became slow. i then decide to go into system settings and update the tablet. the update failed and it aborted the update. now its stuck in a loop of crashing then resetting.

i never had a micro sd card in the tablet is this why this happens. the tablet is also **unmodified and or rooted in any shape or form**

in yellow text over an Android "ERROR!" Background

then the screen goes to black and

then it goes back to the yellow command lines again.

it does this infinitely until i hold the power down or it dies

i tried to hold power down and volume key up

but it doesn't matter it keeps going to the error screen right after I see the hp logo

i then went and bought a micro sd with a reader and i don't know what to do next.

i do know that the** Android is version 4.4.2 as i looked at it before it got bricked

PLEASE HELP WHAT DO I DO

also when i plug the device via usb the tablet displays a charging symbol but the pc does not recognize the tablet

Welcome to Android Central! When you updated the tablet, it was an official system update pushed over-the-air?

I'm not sure if this will work on your model, but try booting into Recovery and wiping the cache partition: HP Slate 10 HD - Recovery Mode - HardReset.info

hi I just made an account and yes it was an ota update


jusy tried the vulume keys up
now it just stuck on splash screen cant acess recovery mode at all.
it dowsnt boot loop it just hangs there when i press volumee power up

Do you mean that you powered on by pressing and holding Power and Vol Up?

It's likely that either the firmware is corrupt, or something with the motherboard failed. I'm afraid there may not be much you can do about that, sorry!

You could try contacting HP and telling them that their update bricked your tablet. (You may get it back from them with a paper saying that no problems were found - but it will be working. they're famous for that - "We fixed it, but we're not going to tell you what was wrong with it.")
