OMG OMG I lost my galaxy S5 today... I took off the battery and sim card out can I still locate it?

Probably not. There is no way for the device to be located in a powered off state, and if the battery was in it, I think locating it mainly depends on cell tower reporting.

Nope. If it doesn't even have a battery then you are out of luck.
