verizon sent me a replacement V20 after 2 out of 3 cameras stopped working on my previous phone. after two days of reinstalling apps i’ve come to realize that this new V20 will not quick charge. i have tried both batteries and combinations of two LG quick chargers and 3rd party cables. nothing works. any other suggestions? or do i have to get a 3rd V20??

thank you!

Welcome to the world of refurbish roulette.

When you plug in, does it show the Quick Charge icon in the battery (a lighting bolt with a circle around it) but still charges slowly, or is it the regular charge icon (lighting bolt with no circle around it)?

It's possible that the charging brick they gave you is not a quick charging one. Buy a Quick Charge 3.0 certified charger block, I believe Anker has one.

wait they sent me a refurbished phone?.

it is the regular charging icon and a window pops up to tell me i am slow charging.

Update: did you update the phone to Android 8.0 Oreo? Because I've heard from someone after updating to Android Oreo, fast charging no longer works..

i ordered a new charger from amazon that should arrive soon. but amazon only sent me the replacement phone, no accessories or charger. ??????

Yes, it's standard practice to send out refurbished phones for warranty claims. The only exception is if there are no refurbs, and then they will either send a new replacement or "equivalent" (a highly subjective term) phone. You can tell if it's a refurb if it came without a battery or accessories.

Either way, I suspect it's a problem with the new phone itself.

bummer considering i am paying them for a new phone. is it worth sending back? as stated in another thread i HATE restoring android phones. the reinstallation of apps and reconfiguring of preferences does my head in.

If it were me? I may just deal with it. Taking longer to charge isn't going to be the end of the world, and the next one may have a different problem.

true that. i do have a backup battery and charging cables galore so it'd be nearly impossible to run out of juice. thanks for the advice!
