Dear all

Would really appreciate some help and advice.

I downloaded the Android 4.2.2 update but when I was asked to install, I clicked the "Install later" option. Now I need to know how to proceed to actually install it. I have Astro File Manager but don't know the name of the file and even if I could find it, how to install.

My phone is unrooted.

I keep getting these reminders that Update is available. When I click on it, it starts downloading again (the progress bar starts) and I cancel because I don't want to now have TWO installation files worth 440Mb taking up my real estate.

I have tried to restart the phone, switch it off and turn it on hoping a message will appear asking if I want to install downloaded files but to no avail.

Would sure appreciate any help on how to proceed.

Thanks!

Greg

If it was trying to download the file again, you would not end up with 2 files all it would have done is overwrite the first one. Have you 'swiping' down from the top of the screen? There you should find the installation file, just select it and it should start the update process.

Hi Centurion thanks for your reply! No pulling down the menu just says update available.

I just received a call from HTC customer service. He told me that if I chose to select install later even though progress bar showed fully downloaded it would not be saved so I should not worry and just click download again. Does this sound right to you?

Yes it does, it looks like cancelling the download caused the problem, so downloading again should be fine.

Thanks, appreciate it! I'm already regretting not getting the 64GB version so every bit of space I don't waste helps!

Best regards,

Greg

Not a problem, as soon as the update is complete it deletes the file anyway

Sorry, let me understand this. The download is about 440MB. When the file is completed does this mean that I will regain about 400MB or is that a definite trade off for the new version? Thanks!
