No, it's fine! That is what was supposed to happen like 5 pages ago. You should be set to install whatever rom you want with this recovery. You don't ever need to change it.

you seriously saved my life. and thank you SO much for being so patient. 1 last thing! can you direct me to a guide to installing a new rom? i dont want to screw it up lol. and i need to put 2 files in my root with the rom right?

At this point, you don't need to do anything special. If you want to install a rom, place that rom anywhere on your sdcard, go into your recovery, pick flash zip, and then flash the rom file.

Certain roms have other zip files they want you to flash after flashing the rom. Simply load all the necessary files onto your sdcard beforehand and follow the directions for that particular rom.

So long as you don't use the factory reset that is found in the privacy settings page inside the rom, you will be fine.

If you are changing from one ROM to another, most ROMs say to wipe cache and dalvik cache before flashing your new ROM.

Since the dev's say to do it, I always have.

And of course, always make a backup in recovery before you flash a new ROM, or at least keep a single basic backup for emergencies.

was just wondring if the rom files I got were bad. The ones I got didn't work, but someone got me the links from the OP, And my device still just hung @ the android logo. AT LEAST I'm now comfortable. With recovery mode and I have backups. AND don't have clockworkmod :)
