I own a new mac with Snow Leopard, and when I type ./adb devices it doesnt list. I install XP inside of virtualbox and adb.exe devices outputs nothing at all. I have followed instructions perfectly to this point and I am about to go out of my mind here. Please help. Yes the drivers are installed properly.

Just to be sure:
1. You have downloaded the android sdk
2. You have downloaded the RAR and extracted the four files and placed inside the tools folder

Edit: You don't need Windows or drivers for this method

If you read properly I followed the instructions. I already have them, ./adb devices starts the daemon and doesn't output any devices, it is listed in my USB list. I have the files in the tools folder and ./adb devices doesnt output anything at all.

So I just went through the process on my Mac to see if I could replicate your issue, and the only way ADB doesn't list my device is if USB debugging isn't turned on.
