CM 7, A2 was working beautifully for me on my TP. Suddenly, when moving downloaded apps to SD Card, processes started force closing. I have lost everything in SD storage and I have a notification that says, "SD Card Removed. Please insert new one." Settings>Storage shows "0" storage. Rebooting does nothing. Please help!
Thank you!

I'd be panicking and uninstalling cm7 then checking the space shows up in webos, if not i'd then proceed with wiping webos too.

Before that I'd check and see if the space shows up when booted into webos.

Did just that. Storage was still there on Web OS so wiped CM7 and reinstalled. So far, so good...
Thanks.

Ok - Same thing happened to me today, I have a ton of apps installed on SD and CM7 can't see it anymore. Frankly, there is nothing critical there so instead of reloading CM7 right away I will mess around with it and see what I can figure out.

This TP is a toy and I knew loading CM7 might be a bit funky - If I figure anything out I'll post back.

lol @ the touchpad is a toy reference. what you meant to say is that cyanogenmod for the touchpad is in an alpha state. Alpha state software for anything (including the inhouse versions for the iPad) is usually unstable as hell and does really weird things. this is the primary reason I am waiting for the CM team to label it at least beta before I jump in... although I already have a flyer, so no hurry for me.

Yeah - although even for an Alpha I think CM7 is excellent and I've really been having a blast with in on my TP. By a toy I meant that I really don't use my TP for anything "serious" and more as something cool to play with and learn about Android (and for that matter Ubuntu which I also have loaded) so when I screw it up like this there is no real hurry to get it restored. Its not like my work laptop where I need to get it fixed fast and will pretty much work on it until I figure it out.

Back to this problem - what were the rest of you doing when you lost your SD? I seem to recall that I had plugged it into my PC via USB, gone into USB mode and when I ejected and went to the app drawer any apps that were on the SD didn't appear. Rebooted once and they came back at first but then lost them the next time it went to sleep. Gonna start there....

Re: Help! SD Storage Gone! - FIXED

** FIXED **

Did a little digging and figured it out. Apparently there is a bug where if you install more than 50 apps on the SD then CM7 can't mount it for some reason. I had gone on kind of a app install spree yesterday and when I checked, sure enough I had 50+ files in the .android_secure folder because I had changed the CM7 settings to install on SD by default. Very easy to fix - booted WebOS, went into USB mode and deleted a few apps from the folder - booted back to CM7 and everything is good.

Here is more details: Issue 4637 - cyanogenmod - SD card missing when more then 50 applications in .adroid_secure folder - CyanogenMod Android ROM - Google Project Hosting

So, I just had it happen to me again (all storage gone) while moving some apps to SD card. Read the details in Issue 4637 that state not more than 50 apps can be added to SD card. Solution seemed to be delete some apps using .android_secure folder but my .android_secure folder is empty??? Tried simply deleting some apps from the app drawer but this did not solve the issue. Please give a few more details on your suggested fix above by booting to WebOs and going into USB mode. Deleted a few apps from what folder, please? And why deleting from WebOS and not CM7 (although, CM7 says these apps aren't installed, maybe that's why?) Also, am I to understand that we can't add more than 50 apps to the SD card...forever?
Thank you!
Update: After uninstalling a few apps from the SD card using the app drawer and a reboot, my storage is back and apps are "installed" again and working. Still, if anyone has any further info on this problem, please post as 50 apps is very limited IMO. For now I'm going to move some smaller apps to phone storage.

If it's on the CM issue list it is something that will get sorted eventually :) Also I'd imagine the 50 app limit is for both SD memory & internal memory installs.

Apparently Alpha 3 didn't fix this issue. Just tried moving about 7 additional apps to SD storage and lost everything in SD storage again. Booted into WebOS and deleted all apps I had intalled there and rebooted to CM and storage returned. I really hope this issue is somehow resolved!

Good to know - bumping up to A3 today.

Hi Gadgetdude, could you explain how you were able to store 50+ apps in the first place? I have only a handful so far and when I try to install Asphalt 6, my TP tells me I have no more space on SD card and need to clear up about a gig. I am having a very hard time finding a solution for this. Thanks for any help!
