Help switching from T-Mobile to Straight Talk

It worked for me. I ran all the above steps on my unlocked T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4. Its really amazing. It should also be noted that after the completion of the above steps, you will have just EDGE data. In order to change it to 4G, you will need to select 'LTE/WCDMA/GSM(auto connect)' under the network mode. Thanks to 'melovelynn' and than you Captaincoffey for reposting. ITS WORKING!!!!!!

What if t-mobile isn't an option under network operators? AT&T was the only thing that came up and the phone wouldn't let me use it (I have a locked T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2).

Well, I have had my T-Mobile Galaxy S II on Straight Talk for over a year now and have had NO issues what so ever. First off, I paid $35 to get it "network unlocked". Then, Straight talk has a SIM card you buy for your T-Mobile phone that is specifically for "unlocked network". Then, they give you the info to set up your APN and delete the previous APN AFTER you set up your new one. You have tethering and hotspot free as well, no issues whatsoever. And my APN settings for my "unlocked" phone are
Name: Straight Talk
APN: att.mvno
Proxy: proxy.mvno.tracfone.com
Port: 80
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.33
MMS Port: 80
Now, this is my APN for "unlocked" phone so pretty sure it more than likely won't work for a locked phone, but that is what I did from the start and like I said NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER! It's worth $35 to get your phone network unlocked. But honestly reading through all these replies I don't believe sprint has anything to do with Straight Talk because sprint has no SIM card Straight Talk does! However, it is an AT&T affiliate. I hope this helps you all as it has worked for me since day one.

I have a galaxy s3 that i just switched over from t-mobile to straight talk and I can't seem to figure out how to set up the apn settings. Please help

Re: Thank You melovelynn

Please help me set up my galaxy s3 I can't get my data to work :( going from tmobile to straight talk

I have a Galaxy Note 2 and I made the APN just like you said to do it. But when I go to the network operators and try searching it says that my mobile data is turned off and then takes me to a T-Mobile website. The data is on though and it still say's I'm connected to the right APN. I have a circle with a line through it where my signal bars should be. Any suggestions?

I have a unlocked note 3 switched it to straight talk but now im getting an invalid sim card message can someone help me resolve this problem

I just did and I am now able to use data! Whoohoo!! I went to their support page and followed the instruction and table given.

Go to straighttalk.com, select SUPPORT at the top, click on HOW TO UPDATE DATA SETTINGS, Enter your number, then select Samsung Galaxy S (3G, 4G) and it will give you instructions in how to change the APN.

Good Luck!!

I am also in the Memphis area. I'm going to pick up a Pre Paid T Mobile s5 from a friend tomorrow. Would I be better off staying with the T Mobile Pre Paid or trying to switch it to Straight Talk?
I am currently with Verizon and my bill is ridiculous and the service sucks. I can't even make a phone call from my house. I have to drive a mile up the road to make a call. Hence why I'm getting away from Verizon.
T-Mobile and Straight Talk are 1/4 of what I pay now.
I'm just curious as to if it's worth trying to switch the Pre Paid T-Mobile phone to Straight Talk or just leave it be. There's not much difference in the monthly plan price.
Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
