Help! The touch is going crazy and selecting random parts of the screen that aren't touched.

Hi,
I don't really know how to describe this or how to fix it.
Just randomly my nexus 4 started to act funny. I went to text someone and it won't type the letters I'm selecting. Say if you hit "m" it selects "z" and if you hit the backspace it selects a bunch of different letters. It's like the sensors are completely off. It's like this for everything, not just the texting. I can't use any apps or even get into the settings because it doesn't register the right part of the screen is being touched. I've turned it off and on 3 times with no results. I have no idea how to fix this? Any ideas?
Thanks

I had the same problem. Shake it really hard for like 5-10 minutes straight. That's what I did and it quit doing it.

I certainly hope the previous response was made with tongue firmly in cheek.

This is an identified problem for a growing number of Nexus users since the 4.3 update - myself included. I have tried every combination of power cycling, safe mode, reinstall, case/no case, screen protector/no protector, and all to no avail. This definitely a 4.3 problem and I will be hoping along with you that they release a fix soon.

For myself I've found that power cycling with some delay (waiting for it to cool off maybe?) will help for just a little while. Some days I'm able to get 1-2 hours of use out of the phone before the screen issue becomes unbearable.
