((((((((Update:)))))) I've gotten my USB repaired now I'm able to use the Nexus Root Tool Kit.... I'm still on VZW rooted an unlocked using ICS 4.0.4.

Can someone tell me step by step how to unroot an lock the phone? I'm new to rooting an I'm confused. Does the Nexus Root Tool Kit already have the official VZW jelly bean update plus other versions installed on the NRTK itself? And is there any way my apps would remain organized?

Thanks in advance to anyone that takes their time out to help me

Thanks. I should of mentioned I'm on VZW, I was under the impression that 404 was released for it?... What is CWM temp for?

I'm on Verizon as well. Its not really "officially" released. Clock Work Mod Recovery will be Temporary flashed on your phone which will allow you to access the root of your drive and flash the 4.0.4 update. If you want to wait for official official 4.0.4 just revert back to 4.0.2 and wait for the OTA

Here is the toolkit : [GNex TOOLKIT V6.1] Drivers, Backup, Unlock, Root, CWM, Flash, Mods + MORE [SPRINT] - xda-developers

Very easy to do. Also you wont be able to get 4.0.4 without being unlocked. So you will have to launch the toolkit revert back to 4.0.2 stock. which will unroot you but leave you unlocked, you can then with the toolkit flash CWM temp and push the install that way.

From what i read there is a method to get 4.04 without being unlocked. it's in a thread here

The best option I found was on xda. It was a kit and the thread was called one click solution return to stock. The file is named galaxy nexus restore vzw I believe. There are alot of guides on this forum but I found the above tool to be by far the easiest and best. It will take you back to stock and then ready to take jb ota. Hope this helps. I was sure glad I bumped into it. One click is all. Strictly for restoring to stock.
