Help w/syncing contacts

Hi, I'm new to Android, I previously had a Verizon flip phone with names & phone numbers.

How do I add the names & phone numbers from my Verizon flip phone with the contact information already in my Gmail account?

I've had the numbers ported over from my Verizon flip to my Moment. I also have my Moment set up to sync with my gmail account. It's sort of a mess right now. How do I merge them without losing my Verizon flip info?

Another related question, is there a way to separate contacts with phone numbers from contacts with email addresses? I don't think I really want my gmail account contacts available to me unless I'm sending out email. I only want my flip phone contacts available to me when I'm sending out text messages and phone calls.

Turn on contacts sync with your android phone. Let it drag all your contacts over. Turn off contacts sync. Remove the ones you don't want to keep.

Easiest way I can think of.

Or just keep contacts sync off and bluetooth over the contacts you want from your old phone.
