Hello all,

I was running a CM7 nightly from probably about a month ago, and a couple of days ago I started getting force closes on everything i did. I had this problem before and i simply used rom manger to restore a recovery i had made and it fixed everyone. But this time when I went to do a restore from a backup i had saved, midway through the restore it came with an error and my screen froze in the middle of the restore. I left the phone for almost an hour to see if it would continue, but it didnt and i had to pull the batter. When i turned phone on i get the "HTC Incredible" logo screen then it goes back, phone vibrates 5 times and the notification light blinks greens. This goes on indefinitely. I pulled the battery and held power button + vol down to get into the hboot screen which still works, from there i tried to go into recovery, but the phone does the blank screen and buzzing again, not booting into clockworkmod. I tried going into fastboot and hooking it into my computer and running a 2.2 Ruu to get it to work, but the ruu just freezes and never moves. Next i tried doing unrevoked3 to see if i could get clockworkmod flashed again, i installed the hboot drivers required for win7 x64, but it never recognizes my device. I do notice that my s-on, and my phone used to be rooted with s-off. I next tried flashing clockworkmod recovery in hboot screen by renaming the zip to PB31IMG.zip, i believe it was, but when it tries to read the file from the sd card, it keeps saying there is no image. Finally i installed ADB and fastboot to my computer and tried pushing the recovery that way, but i get a failed security error. To be noted, fastboot devices - shows my Dinc, but when i do adb devices - no devices are shown. I'm running out of ideas, i tried looking at other posts, but doug's links never work for me. If anyone has any alternatives for me to try, im all ears. Thanks

Dang man!!! Thats a helluva first post! Welcome to Android Central.

I think the links to Doug Pistons stuff has been moved to Pvillecomp's (we usually just call him the Stig) own site at the Droid Incredible Resource Page. Here's the link to it.

5 Vibs of Death | PvilleComp's

If you still have trouble and need more help or the instructions in the post don't make sense or don't work hit Pville up with a PM. He's wicked smart and extremely helpful.

Good luck.

I will give that link and instructions a try as soon as I can today. Thank you very much for the quick response.

No problem, though all credit goes to those who did the write up...all I did was point you in the right direction.
