Help with M8 Notifications

Since the update to Lollipop, I have not had much luck with the notifications. I used an app called Dynamic Notifications and it worked awesome. I really liked the feature of turning your screen on to notify you of a new notification. It will not work properly with Lollipop. Has anyone else had an issue with this? It worked great before Lollipop. Seems like something that Google did.

The app might not be coded properly for Lollipop. Have you emailed the developer to inform them?

Here's what I do to use Lollipop notifications AND have the screen turn on when a notification arrives.

Before Lollipop, I used NiLS https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roymam.android.notificationswidget for notifications and really liked it. You could still use it exclusively but won't get music controls on lock screen if you turn off Lollipop notifications. So, I use both. I re-installed NiLS and turned-off the NiLS Floating Panel (that's a setting inside NiLS). This is so NiLS won't actually display anything on the lock screen. In NiLS Settings I have Auto Wake Up set to wake "next time screen is uncovered." With this setting, when a notification arrives, the screen will turn on if screen is uncovered or (as if in your pocket), stay off and turn on next time you take it out of your pocket. (That's the feature I REALLY want.) I have been using this set-up for about five days now and it is still working.

You could also use Screen Notifications. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lukekorth.screennotifications It is not a feature rich as NiLS, but it will turn on the screen when a notification arrives. It has an adjustable screen-on timer that I couldn't get to work. But it turns-on screen WHENEVER a notifications arrives, screen covered or not.

Also, there should be a way to do it using Tasker but I haven't tried.
