but reading from what your saying that isnt it. the phone turns off the screen when you on a call so you wont accidentally press buttons.. if you want it to light up on a call move the phone away from your ear. theres a proxmity sensor on the top left side of the phone when you cover it during a call that screen turns black ..

ok thanks ill try that app out..and this is my girls phone so i neva use it so im asking for her she says when she calls and has button options like for cus service wen she nees to hit keys on the pad it has the menu lock feature come up or it stays blank and she has to hit the end call to bring bac up the menu unlock

ah ok well that app isnt for that.. what your talkng about only happens during the call.. oh well like i said before.. on the samsung moment on the top left of the phone theres 3 leds those are proxmity sensors. when your on during a call and you cover these sensors the phone will turn blank so you wont accidently press buttons so if your calling to customer service what i do and recommend is change call to speaker and dial what you need. test it yourself tell her to call anyone and have the phone away from her ear to hold it in her hand and cover the LEDS watch wat happens.. tell her to uncover them .. that will explain what i mean

I actually have this same problem and would love to know the answer. I keep my phone in my pocket most of the time. When I get a call, the screen turns off before I get the phone out of my pocket nearly every time.

I'm then tempted to press the END button to turn the screen back on. Of course, this hangs up on the caller. I get the proximity thing, but how about giving me a few seconds to get the phone out of my pocket and see who is calling before the screen turns off?

For all I know, there may be a way to do this. I just haven't found it yet.

For something to try.. Tap the screen two times. This might unlock the screen (what the phone requires wile in a call and the proximity switch has not unlocked your phone). Not 100% sure as the phone is already in locked mode before the call but might work.

As for the 1st question, I have no clue for ya bud. Not sure your phone should be doing that as if you?re on a call it should just lock the screen so your cheek doesn?t dial numbers. But it shouldn?t lock your screen like the phone has been dormant.

I figured it out. When I pull the phone out of my pocket, the screen is off. If i wait a second or two after I take it out of my pocket, the screen turns on. Guess I was just being impatient.
