help with rooting

i have a droid eris running the official ota of 2.1 and i cannot find anywhere that says how to root from the there. they all talk about rooting from 1.5. just looking for a little guidance. never messed with the eris before.

The instructions are exactly the same. Just follow them as if you still had 1.5 installed. Basically, the first step is to flash a new ROM over what you have that adds an unlocked bootloader, and that will install over the bootloader that an Eris with 2.1 installed from OTA. The OTA did not update the bootloader, like the leaked ROMs did.
