Help with sdk tools

Hello there fellow android users. I am a Noob at the sdk tools and need some help. I am running windows 7 for informational purposes. I am trying to use Robchaos_ post on how to update rooted V9 to VD with out loosing all your data and I got to the point where i need to fire up command prompt and
I am stuck here can someone please help me here. I have the VD rom on the root of my SD card and
the phone updated to VD but now I can not figure out how to reboot to recovery to nandroid recover someone please help.

I'm not sure what the question is but if it's that you cant get adb to work this is what i use to make it work
"cd C:\\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools"
other wise make sure you got all the drivers set up, and that you allow adb root access on you phone after you enter "su"

The way i updated from v9 to VD was basically by:
1. using the lg mobile update tool
2. rebooting
3. flashing a VD based ROM

Edit: after looking for that thread to post a link to it here i see that it is outdated so i guess it doesn't work anymore

how did you get the lg update tool to work all mine does is say install usb drivers and when i do that it always hangs up im using windows 7 too

I dont know if it matters but I installed the drivers first then update then updated phone
