Help with team win

I bought a phone on ebay and it has teamwin on it. never used it never heard of it but I can not get my samsung updates it takes me to a weird screen. Can some one explain in laymans terms either how to get rid of TEAM WIN or how to get my updates PLEASE!!!!

Welcome to the forums. Team Win is a custom recovery program. All phones have a recovery program that is separated form the main OS, so that if there is a problem, you can still potentially recovery your device.

Team Win is what is stopping you from getting any updates, however, since your device is an S3, I highly doubt there are going to be any more updates for your device.

There is currently an update it has been trying to get me to download since I got it. Is there an update through team win I should get??

Because you have custom recovery software (and are likely rooted) there will be no updates that you can use. If you want your phone updated to the latest firmware you'll have to manually load the stock firmware.

Someone sold you a rooted /flashed phone on ebay without informing you the condition of the phone, bad form on their part. In all honesty, the Rom flashed on the device is probably better then the stock one, but they should have provided such information to the buyer before they sold it.
